Police In Rivers Arrest 7 Kidnappers by Adesege(m): 11:39pm On Apr 28
The police in Rivers State have arrested a man named Mitchell Tamuno, alleged to be a kidnap kingpin.

The police command, according to information it posted, Thursday, on Facebook, said Mr. Tamuno who is from Abam, Okirika Local Government Area, was arrested on Wednesday around 4a.m, alongside five other members of his gang.

The police said Tamuno and his gang have confessed to kidnapping a 14-year-old girl, Charity Ikirigo, of Federal Government College, Abuloma, on April 18.

A staff of the Nigerian national assembly, Mr Suleiman Bello was repeatedly stabbed by an unknown motorcyclist in Abuja on Thursday. Bello who was driving a Toyota Camry got into a heated argument with a motrcyclist also know as Okada at Bhyanzin Junction.

An eyewitness said that Bello who in the heat of the argument with one Okada man, was trying to dodge another motorcyclist who was on a wrong lane, but in the process, he rammed his vehicle into a pick up van packed by the roadside.

The unconscious Bello was still in the vehicle gasping for air and trying to recover, when the unidentified Okada man walked up to Bello's car, brought out a dagger and started stabbing him. The other Okada man also joined by dragging bello out of the car, brought out his own dagger and both motorcyclists stabbed bello till he was motionless.

The okadamen took to their heels when they noticed passerbys were making efforts to call the police.

Army Reacts To Allegations Of Soldiers Complaining About Unpaid Allowance

Army Reacts To Allegations Of Soldiers Complaining About Unpaid Allowance by jonhemma11: 6:58am
RE:DISQUIET IN THE WAR FRONT AS SOLDIERS COMPLAIN OF UNPAID ALLOWANCE
The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to some stories going round the media circles with the title “Disquiet in the war front as soldiers complain of unpaid allowance” alleging that there was problem in the Nigerian Army due to non-payment of allowances to some soldiers serving in the North East.
In particular, they were alleging non-payment of outstanding peacekeeping operations allowance of troops that served in Guinea Bissau under the auspices of the Economic Community of West African States and operation allowances to some troops in counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations, among others.
The issues contained in such publications are not true nor correct. While some media treated the matter professionally, giving the military benefit of doubt and sought to know the truth, while others mischievously went to town with the false story without recourse to ethics of the profession and bothering to find out from the military.
The effort of the former is quite commendable and really appreciated, while that of the latter is quite unfortunate.
For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to inform the public that the issue of non-payment of peacekeeping operations allowance is a minor internal military administrative matter which was treated and resolved accordingly and has no bearing on the fight against terrorism and insurgency as they mischievously alleged.
It should be reiterated that the alleged non-payment of operations allowance among the returnee peacekeepers was due to administrative hitches which was solved to the point that all outstanding peacekeeping operations have been paid and the last batch payment was done last Tuesday.
As regards to payment of operations allowances, it is borne out of deliberate mischief and failure to comply with the new measures aimed at ensuring probity and accountability in the Service. All officers and soldiers are now paid their operations allowance directly into their account.
All those that did not receive theirs was due to non-compliance with the directive of giving correct account details or duplication of names due to recent postings. This has been explained to all those affected and efforts were on to rectify same shortly.
We wish to state further that those soldiers involved or complaint to the media are very few compared to the soldiers in the operation area who are working assiduously to finally clear the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists.
Majority of our troops have been receiving their allowances regularly. The very few indiscipline ones cannot be used to distract us, neither should they be used as yardstick to measure troops general well being and performance.
Already issues relating to troops welfare have been of utmost priority to Mr President and the Army leadership is doing everything possible to ensure troops' high morale.
We would like to once again thank those responsible media outfits that showed understanding and maturity in reporting issues of national defence and security professionally.
Thank you for your kind cooperation.

Acting Director Army Public Relations

10 Reasons Why You Should Attend A Private School In Nigeria

Few years ago, I was not a Fan of Private institution but fast forward to this Era, I think I will choose Private Institution over and over again for myself and for my unborn children.
Years back, Government institutions use to be the best but are no longer making any sense.. Today na strike, Tommorow na fight, Next tomorrow na Protest.. I lie? – We don’t lie here on Naijaloaded
 – Makinde say so!
Here are some reasons to attend a private university
1. A definite graduation date:
Unlike public institutions which are prone to strikes, in a private university there’s no possibility of a strike. Atleast 6 government universities have currently been shut down in Nigeria right now. University of Ibadan, UNILAG, UNIPORT, AAU, KSU etc are currently shut down.
This will lengthen the duration of time you are to spend on a program. Crime rate by students of these institutions have increased because they are now idle. Some of my friend in Fountain University, Osogbo in 2014 countdown from 112 to their Graduation day.. Guess what? They graduated on the exact day they had previously calculated, Try that in a public school, You will add another 300 days to make it work.
2. It’s safer:
No cult clashes, no protests. You won’t live in fear of some cult members or students vandalizing properties in the name of protests. One of the biggest undoings of public universities is Cultism… Which has claimed the lives of thousands of innocent people and cult members respectively. However, students in private universities are safe from the fear of a cult attack.
Protests are also very violent these days. Just the way it happened in UNILAG and UNIPORT where lots of properties were destroyed and some lives were in fact lost, in a private school there’s no chance for that.
3. A faster syllabus:
It takes just about 4 years to complete a 5 year program in private schools. However public schools have a slower academic calendar. Even without the strikes, the calendar of a private school is usually faster than that of a public school.
4. A more concentrated learning process:
In private schools, special attention is given to every student of the school. The lecturers all have a duty to pay special attention to each and everyone of the student and put them through their lacks. This way your flaw is easily detected and will be dealt with appropriately. However in public schools especially with the size and population, it is impossible for this to happen. The school have almost no personal relationship with the students and they are not aware of any personal psychological needs of the students.
5. Better welfare:
The individual welfare of the students are catered for. The accommodation is way better than you get in hostels of public schools. Most times they have no light or water problems. The condition of their hostels and classes is way better too. Even in general courses you won’t see them running to catch sits because everyone gets to sit down comfortable. With the welfare learning is made a lot easier because you will be less strained.
6. Better Moral Training:
The university is the melting point of all moral standards. There’s no form of anti-moral behaviour you wouldn’t find in a university. However, private universities, with their very strict enforcement of moral values, have reduced the decay in moral values by far.
7. Superior real world experience and laboratory:
Most private universities are not just well equiped but super equiped. Covenant university, Babcock university and Afe babalola uniniversity combined easily dwarfs all public federal and state universities combined in laboratory equipment standard and volume or availability per student. I am pretty sure it will remain same if all state schools are added to public schools while other private universities are added to the mentioned schools.
8. Organized system:
In private systems. You get your transcripts easily. In public univerisites the reverse is the case 40% of the time. Same pattern holds for Jamb regularization, NYSC call-up and result checking.
9. No Lecturers Threat:
You hardly see or hear about Lecturers harassing ladies in Private institutions or hear about Lecturer threatening to Fail you or not allow you Graduate. Come down to Public institutions, A Lecturer can make you fail for using Blackberry Q10 while he’s using Blackberry bold 5.
A Lecturer told my friend he won’t graduate just because he drives Honda EOD, said he’s using the same car with the HOD.. Can you imagine?
10. Add Yours
Tell us anything odd that you think happens in Public institutions but will never happen in a Private institutions.
We want to hear from you too.
Drop your Comments.

Between Tiwa Savage And Funke Akindele by confamgist237: 8:43am
Actress, Funke Akindele, and singer, Tiwa Savage, went all lovey-dovey on social media today!

It all started after the singer worked on a yet-to be-aired episode of Funke Akindele’s hit series Jenifa’s Diary....as a result the actress tweeted her gratitude at the African Waist crooner.

The songtress responded in kind saying, “I absolutely adore you,” to the actress, confessing, “I’m sure you’ve noticed how shy I get when I see you sis.”
It is heartwarming to see this play out on social media, so unlike the celebrity beefs we have become accustomed to!

Why Having Male Besties Will Affect Your Relationship Negatively by Wahalaboy

Why Having Male Besties Will Affect Your Relationship Negatively by Wahalaboy(m): 7:08amWhy Most girls today have a male best friend they call "bestie". And these besties serve as the chief custodians of the girl's emotional garbage. Because of how generally open minded, straightforward, interesting and mature guys are, girls have grown to prefer having them closer to their hearts as friends instead of having regular female best friends.

However, because of some factors I'm going to highlight now, having a male bestie while at the same time having a boyfriend is toxic to your relationship.

1. Girls find it easier to be "just friends" with guys than vice-versa. In 7/10 of cases, the male bestie usually has hidden feelings for the female bestie. When a guy has feelings for a girl and she got problems with her relationship and she asks that guy for some advice, man, out of jealousy, he is most likely to give the girl an advice toxic to the girl's relationship like- "forget it, he's not meant for you" :v

2. There are lots of Emotions transferred through problem sharing:

See, when you find yourself really comfortable sharing your problems with someone, it heightens the emotional connection between the both of you. When you share your personal problems with a guy it increases the intimacy between you two. So when you have a boyfriend but you feel more comfortable talking to another guy about your problems and he's giving a listening ear, you both start developing some kind of intimacy you wouldn't believe. And if care isn't taken, that intimacy might develop into feelings.

3. A shoulder to cry on is a dick to ride on:

This is self explanatory. A girl is most vulnerable when she's all emotional crying to meet a male buddy of hers telling him about her heartache. Bae, if the guy wants to take advantage of you at that moment, even Karashika can't help you. When a girl is hurt she's most likely to cry to a close male friend of hers especially when the boyfriend caused the hurt. At that point she is weak as poo and she needs succor. In many cases I've seen, the guy let's her cry on his shoulder and the lips just gets locked and....

4. In most cases, the bestie is the funnier one-

Girls are automatically more attracted to a guy when he's funny. And believe me, girls prefer to spend more time with a funny person than a boring boyfriend. So in most cases the girl spends time texting or talking with her funny-as-poo bestie rather than her always uptight super-busy boyfriend. Aside the intimacy that grows from talking to constantly with a particular person, funny guys will make a girl laugh so much the girl don't even realize when she pulls her panties.

5. It creates an unnecessary competition between your boyfriend and your bestie:

It gets to a point when your bestie becomes jealous of your boyfriend and your boyfriend becomes insecure about your bestie. Infact at one point both parties would accuse you of choosing the other one over him.

6. It's easier to cheat with your male bestie than with anyone else:

You both get playing and one thing leads to the other and you both kiss. Nothing attached... "just kiss". Doesn't seem harmless though but then you realize that no matter how casual the kiss was, you cheated already. And when you do this habitually it develops from a harmless kiss into something deeper and before you know it, you become something like "friends with benefits".

7. You are most likely to develop feelings for your bestie because you only see the good side of him.

He's like everything your boyfriend isn't. He has time to listen to your problems, he generally pays more attention to you, he's usually funnier. So you might get carried away by his charms because you only see that good part of him he shows you. When you fall for him and maybe you had to end your relationship because of him, you realize that he wasn't much better than your boyfriend.

Tiwa Savage Complains About Boring Sex Life After Baby by JAYTUNEZ

Tiwa Savage Complains About Boring Sex Life After Baby by JAYTUNEZ(m): 9:07am
Mavin singer, Tiwa Savage the proud mother of baby Jamal spoke to newsmen recently about life as a new mother.

The 'Standing Ovation' singer claims that her baby has been nothing short of a blessing to her as he has brought about a sharp increase in her fan base.

"Since I gave birth to my baby my followership has actually grown to 1.4 million on Instagram and twitter respectively. It is growing way faster since I had my baby. I would actually say my baby is a blessing", she said.

Tiwa however agreed that her husband initially complained about her paying too much attention to baby Jamal, and advised ladies to pay close attention to their man, after delivery, she said;

Men often complain that their wives pay more attention to their babies. Are you experiencing that too?

Initially yes, I am not going to lie about that. He wakes up every two hours, you are going to devote all your time to him and your sex life might not be interesting as before. You would have stress, stretch marks too. But eventually for the sake of your marriage I would encourage all women to look after their husbands, especially after having babies. It is very important.

Tiwa Savage also revealed in the interview that she will be dropping another video for 'If I Start To Talk' featuring Dr Sid, which is one of her tracks in her latest album RED.

Man Arrested For Selling Appointment Letters (photo) by dre11

Man Arrested For Selling Appointment Letters (photo) by dre11(m): 2:15pm
Afeez Hanafi

No fewer than 21 job seekers have fallen victims to a fake official of the Federal Ministry of Education, Abayomi Owoyale, after giving him money to secure teaching jobs.

Owoyale, who is currently in detention at the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, Lagos State, was said to have sold each of the letters, purportedly signed by the permanent secretary of the ministry, for N60,000.

While some paid in cash, others reportedly paid into a Zenith Bank account number 2170004060, bearing Fajemisin Olakunle Owoyale.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspect made first contact with his unsuspecting victims in the Agbado area of Ogun State on March 15, 2016, claiming that a politician in Abuja had given him 50 appointment letters to sell to those interested in teaching at federal secondary schools.

It was gathered that two parents bought the forged appointment letters for their unemployed four children, who are university graduates, Nigeria College of Education and National Diploma holders, while other youths with the same qualifications paid to Owoyale directly for ‘jobs’.

In the appointment letter, it was stated that the candidates would resume work on May 9 on an annual salary of N845,200.

“You are therefore posted to the Federal Government College, Odogbolu, Ogun State, with effect from May 9, 2016, and you are placed on level 07 of the Federal Government Educational Policy and your new salary will be N845,200 per annum,” one of the letters partly read.

Our correspondent gathered that the beneficiaries became suspicious when Owoyale started sending to them controversial text messages.

In one of the messages shown to PUNCH Metro, Owoyale had requested the prospective ‘employees’ to visit the schools they were posted to between April 4 and 15.

But he later sent another text message which read, “Last Notice: This is to inform all the candidates to please hold on and not to report to the school principals yet until you are told to do so. The master list has not been forwarded to some schools. Please, you shall be contacted shortly on when to do so. Thanks.”

A parent, Mrs. E.O. Oluborode, said she paid N360,000 to Owoyale for the appointment letters she bought for her two children, her in-law and three others, adding that the inconsistencies of the suspect’s messages made her to involve the police in the matter.

She said, “I bought the appointment letters for my two graduate children, my daughter’s husband and helped my brother’s wife, my son’s friend and a friend’s son to buy one each. I paid him N360,000 altogether. About 15 others also showed interest in the appointment letters and had given him part payments.

“After closely observing the messages he sent to me, it occurred to me that I must have been defrauded. I alerted the police yesterday (Tuesday) and called him on the phone to come down to Kola bus stop to collect N190,000 balance of those that had not fully paid. He was arrested at the bus stop and taken to Panti.”

Another victim, Adejobi Adeyemi, said he resigned from a private secondary school in Abeokuta, after he received the letter, thinking that he had secured a better job.

He said, “I am an NCE holder. It was a church member, Damilola, who introduced me to the man. I paid him N15,000 cash on March 15 and paid another N10,000 a week after into his Zenith Bank account. On April 1, I paid N5,000 to make it N30,000. After he gave me the appointment letter, I resigned from the school where I was teaching. I want my money refunded.”

A man, who identified himself only as Ade, said he suspected foul play because the letter did not carry government stamp, adding that his wife, who needed a job, persuaded him to pay the money.

Mrs. Comfort Adeyanju, a trader, said Owoyale collected N415,000 from her to get 11 letters for her two children, her relatives’ wards, and friends’ children.

She said, “I coordinated the payment on behalf of 13 persons. Some made part payments of N40,000 while others paid in full. He was releasing the letters in trenches as our payment progressed. He had given us 11 before he was arrested. We want our money back and appeal to the government to assist us in getting jobs for our children so that we won’t fall victims again.”

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the fraud, saying, “The Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, ordered the transfer of the suspect to the SDCI for discreet investigation.”

Teebillz Attempts Suicide At Lekki-Toll Bridge - Eye Witness by cyborg07

Teebillz Attempts Suicide At Lekki-Toll Bridge - Eye Witness by cyborg07: 2:22pm

When Teebillz shared his suicide note this morning on IG while pouring his heart out about the demise of his marriage to Tiwa Savage, many of us thought/hoped he was just talking, but he wasn't. Tunji 'Teebillz' Balogun tried to commit suicide this morning by jumping off the Lekki- Ikoyi toll bridge and this is fact!

According to an eye-witness named Chukwuma Ani, who witnessed the incident and was one of the men who pulled Teebillz off the bridge, he told LIB exclusively that around past 9 this morning while driving on the Lekki-Ikoyi toll bridge, a car hit his own from behind, damaging his car. He said he came out of the car and approached the driver of the vehicle that hit his. He didn't know who the man was (it was Teebillz) but he said he berated him for hitting his car and asked the man to come out and assess the damage caused to his car. The man looked at him and told him to leave...that he was there for a reason. That he was planning to commit suicide and Chukwuma Ani would hear about it later...

Not knowing who the guy was or understanding why he was talking suicide, Mr Ani said he kept insisting that the driver must come down from his car and see the damage he had caused to his car. He said he noticed alcohol on the floor of the driver's car so thought the man was drunk. He said while shouting and berating the driver for hitting his car, the guy just suddenly drove his car with speed to the front.

Ani said he got into his own car and gave chase and was surprised to see the driver of the car parking his car in the middle of the bridge as other cars drove past. He said he parked in front of the driver and approached the man again, telling him that he couldn't even apologize for hitting his car and was instead trying to drive off. He said as he was berating the man, he (Teebillz) got down from his car and walked to the bridge railing.

He said he stood there wondering what the driver was trying to do and it was at that point that two other cars approached them. He said as he was trying to figure out who the new comers were, Teebillz had moved to the bridge railing and was trying to jump. Mr. Ani said a light skinned guy came out from the first car and began running towards Teebillz screaming and that was when he realized what was going on..
"I thought I was watching a movie" Ani told LIB "the man held the railing and tried to jump over it and that was when the yellow man held him and started shouting for help. The two of them nearly fell into the water. I quickly joined the yellow man to pull the guy out and while we were struggling with him, one PSquare twin (Peter Okoye) and Banky W joined us to pull the man out " Ani said
LIB called Peter Okoye to confirm he was there but he refused to say anything "Even if I was there, I can't say anything about it" he said.

We hear Teebillz is doing okay now and is surrounded by family and friends. People need to take depression seriously in Nigeria - a lot of people are so depressed and struggling and don't usually have anywhere to turn to for help. Let's always lend a helping hand. Hope Teebillz gets better.

Kaduna Refinery Begins Supply Of PMS Daily by Islie

Kaduna Refinery Begins Supply Of PMS Daily by Islie: 5:37am
Alhaji Idi Mukhtar, Managing Director, Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC), says the company will begin daily release of 2 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from Wednesday.

Mukhtar announced this on Tuesday while receiving the leadership of the state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in his office.

He said the company would commence the supply to address the hardship faced by motorists and commuters due to the scarcity of the product.

“I want to announce that by tomorrow, Wednesday, Kaduna Refinery will begin operation with the release of 2 million litters of PMS to motorists in Kaduna and its environs.

“This will help reduce the hardship the citizens are facing due to the fuel scarcity in the state and other parts of the region.

“Sustainability of the product is another issue Nigerians will want to hear but I can tell you that with the available crude oil, we will be producing 2 million litres of PMS a day.

“I can assure you that all hands are on deck to ensure constant supply; we also hope Nigerians will continue to pray for it to be sustained,’’ Mukhtar said.

He blamed the scarcity of the product on some persons in the society whom he described as “bad elements’’.

“We have witnessed 13 infractions on our pipelines between Abuja to Kaduna from March to April.

“We are losing fuel due to activities of unpatriotic elements tampering with pipelines, and this is unfortunate,’’ he said.

Muktar, therefore appealed to the media to intensify campaigns against activities of vandals, stressing that it was time they (vandals) realised the harm done to the country through their unpatriotic behaviour.

Obiba Sly Collins: "I Have Slept With More Than 150 Nigerian Women" by kingwale111

Obiba Sly Collins: "I Have Slept With More Than 150 Nigerian Women" by kingwale111(m): 12:11pm
Veteran Ghanaian based Nigeria music star, Obiba Sly Collins has boldly declared the number of women he slept with whilst in Nigeria doing music.

Obiba, who disclosed this on Atinka FM said he slept with more than 150 women in Nigeria but only had children with two of them.

“May God forgive me my sins. I met a lady who boldly told me she has had an affair with me but I couldn’t even remember until she mentioned the area and even with that remembering the face was a problem. I am telling you they are more than 150. I can’t count them. I have wasted my energy, time, and other resources. Now I have asked for forgiveness and now I am a changed person. I have also drunk a lot. I smoked weed for twenty good years. But now, because I have taken Christ, I am a different person altogether.

He therefore advised the upcoming and current generation to desist from such acts because they are the three detractors in life that weakens the human body and also take your blessings from you.

Fulani Herdsmen: South-east Governors In Abuja Over Attacks by lalasticlala

Fulani Herdsmen: South-east Governors In Abuja Over Attacks by lalasticlala(m): 4:54pm
Apparently peeved by the relentless killings and attacks on communities in the South-East geopolitical zones, governors of the region have headed to Abuja to lodge their displeasure to the Federal Government.

It is believed that the governors are not merely on a trip to complain but to make some definite demands on the presidency concerning the unchallenged impunities of Fulani herdsmen in the region.

Governor Rochas Okorocha, who returned to Imo State Tuesday from a medical trip, is said to have rallied his colleagues in the region to action, describing the killings by the nomads as a national calamity.

While the governors of Imo, Enugu and Abia left for Abuja Wednesday morning, the governor of Ebonyi State left Tuesday evening for Abuja.

It is not very clear the disposition of Governor Willy Obiano of Anambra State on the issue as he appears to always distance himself from the activities of the South-East governors.

For the other four governors of the region, they are evidently pained by the wanton killing campaigns of the Fulani nomads and are sufficiently embarrassed and insulted by the fact that in the face of such killings, the system renders them helpless and unable to protect their citizens.

ulani Herdsmen Attack Enugu Again by tochukwuifeduba:

Fulani Herdsmen Attack Enugu Again by tochukwuifeduba: 3:00pm
There is confusion in Enugu State following reports that Fulani herdsmen have launched a fresh attack in Umuchigbo, another community in the State.
Umuchigbo is in Enugu East Council Area of the State.

The reported attack is happening while the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Solomon Arase is at Nimbo community in Uzo-Uwani council area where a similar attack occurred two days ago and left scores dead.

A source told DAILY POST that “Yes, there is trouble between the Fulani herdsmen and indigenes of Umuchigbo.

“The trouble started this afternoon. The causality figure is not yet known.

“But school children have been asked to go home. It is not yet known if security men have arrived.”

However, another source told our correspondent that it was a scare, which later spread fast and schools started closing.

“The Fulani people had some disagreement with somebody in that community few weeks ago; so, rumour just came today that they have come to attack the residents. Immediately, people started running; there was actually no attack; it was a scare,” he disclosed.

Meanwhile, the police is yet to react to the development.
