Nigeria is a big gamble - Eedris Abdulkareem

– Eedris Abdulkareem blasted Nigerian leaders in new single – The music star titled the song, They Don’t Understand – Eedris in 2002, released the song Mr. Lecturer and in 2004, released Jaga Jaga
Eedris Abdulkareem Eedris Abdulkareem needs no further introduction in the music industry. Born into a polygamous family, Eedris many years back dropped his patronymic surname for his new name, Abdulkareem which means ‘Servant of the generous God.’ The music star on several occasions has been jailed due to his controversial songs during the former president’s regime, Olusegun Obasanjo. Eedris Abudlkareem was shot into limelight in 2002, because of his hit single Mr. Lecturer. Eedris who is well known for insulting his country Nigeria, in most of his songs is out with another controversial single ‘They Don’t Understand’. This song is not in any way celebrating Nigeria but otherwise. Here is part of the lyrics of the song: “I tell them but they don’t understand you know you be my weakness. Where is Nigeria Airways? Where is NITEL? Story for another day that’s what they told you, Nigeria is a big gamble when I take it off, corruption is a fashion and they made it compulsory for Nigerians to wear.” Listen to the full song below:
